Hardwood flooring

Real hardwood floors are manufactured with individual bits of wood from several species, most commonly oak, cherry, or walnut. Although softwood species like pine, fir, and redwood are gentler in origin, these are really not often used for flooring.

Using individual bits of timber, the wood is processed into large planks.

Do you know that hardwood flooring was once utilized as a part of the construction, placed perpendicular to joists to provide structural stability? Hardwood flooring is now mostly used for visual considerations. They have a longer lifespan than engineered wood. 

Maintenance

Cleaning and maintaining real hardwood is pretty simple. Usually, floors simply require dusting and vacuuming, with the addition of a stain-removal mop every now and then. To maintain wooden flooring, stay away from water and steam.

Longevity

Hardwood flooring is preferable for lengthy upkeep since it can be sanded and refinished multiple times to make it appear as shiny. Hardwood flooring can last up to a century or more and needs no replacement. 

Engineered Wood flooring

Engineered flooring is a category of construction materials and components. They're manufactured by gluing together bits of genuine wood, scrap wood, crushed wood fibers, and/or sawdust to make goods that appear and behave like timber but are tougher and more lasting. 

As the title suggests, it has been rigorously evaluated for sturdiness, longevity, and water resistance. Some outdoor-specific items are designed with water-resistant glue. 

Maintenance

To eliminate excess particles, use a mildly wet mop. If there is any excess water on the ground after washing, wipe it with a cloth. If you're using wood cleaners to make your floor sparkle

Longevity

The longevity of engineered flooring is determined by the plank thickness: thin varieties last 15 to 25 years, while thick varieties survive up to 30 to 70 yrs. These expected lifespans may be accurate for high-quality engineered flooring, but not for the various low-cost engineered flooring choices available. It's difficult for a customer to distinguish between superior flooring and lower-cost alternatives. The no. of layers is a stronger indicator than the price point. Select an engineered floor that has at least 5 layers.
